DMI is a student group within the DeGroote School of Business MBA program. Our team is a unique group of socially conscious individuals with a desire to use our skills and experiences to contribute to the positive development of our world. We encourage students, community members, and business leaders alike to join our mission in creating sustainable change.

To raise awareness of social, environment, and economic challenges in our communities both locally and globally, and to use business as means of addressing these challenges

 

Value Statement

As students, above all else we value the opportunities for learning and sharing knowledge. As business students, we understand the potential business mechanisms have to positively change our society locally and at large.  Globalization has shortened the distance between people all over the world, we believe that every person’s life has the same value regardless of where they live. In this vein, societal issues of poverty, homelessness, hunger, disease, the environment, education, and human rights, are the guiding pillars of this group.

 

Strategic Priorities

1. Raise awareness of development challenges in our local, national, and international communities, as well as innovative business based solutions 

2. Provide opportunities for MBA students to engage in development challenges in a way that uses their knowledge and skill to make the most significant impact

3. Build a strong sense of community amongst students, faculty, staff, and visitors, by providing opportunities for community members to interact together in activities that benefit the larger society
